Story of an Ice Cream Sundae
Once upon a time, there was an Inspirational story, is the story of a 10-year-old son who wants to buy an ice cream for himself. That afternoon, the boy went to a ice cream store and sit down on a chair. Then a waiter approached and put a glass of water in front of the child.
That day the child wanted to eat her favorite ice cream, ice cream sundaes. Then he asked the waiter, "Sir, how much is an ice cream sundae?". Then the waiter quickly replied "It costs 50 cents". The child then started to reach into his pocket and pulled out all the coins in the pockets of his pants, slowly and counted the money carefully. Looks like the boy realizes that his money is not enough to buy an ice cream sundae then he asked again at the waiter "How about an ordinary ice cream?".
At that time the shop had a lot of visitors who are waiting to be served. The waiter became impatient and replied with a rather rough on the kids "It cost 35 cents", while showing bad attitude, like people who are upset and want to leave the kid as soon as possible.
After recounted his money, then the boy pick his order "OK, I would like an ordinary ice cream, please"
Then the waiter leaves the child to get the orders. After a few moment the waiter brought an ordinary ice cream as the order of the child and leave the bill on the table, then the kid begins to enjoy his ice cream. After finish his ice cream, then he paid the bill at the cashier and leave the store. When the waiter clean the table used by the kid, he saw two coins of 5 cents and 5 coins of 1 cent are leaved on the table next to the ice cream bowl. This is the reason why the child was not buying ice cream sundaes for 50 cents, because the child wants to give a decent tip money (15 cent) for the waiter. The waiter was shocked and moved by the kindness of the kid then started crying and feel guilty because of his rough attitude on the kid.
I believe that we must have behave like the waiter. very often we draw conclusions and judge others because we see a matter only from one side only - only from our viewpoint. Something doesn't look good on one side not necessarily bad on the other side. What the children do - counting his coins slowly - cause the waiter become annoyed, apparently led to the kindness of the kid who wants to give a tip to the waiter. And unfortunately, the waiters judge too quickly and it was too late to realize the kind of the child.
Before we experienced the same thing as the story above, let us learn to understand the situation and a person from different angles, so that we can take action and put out a better word that we will not regret in the future.
