There was a
group of former student from a famous University which attend a gathering at their ex-University. In addition there were also several professors attend this agenda. Most of them keep telling story about their live, their career, their jobs, thus the conversation happening. Somehow most of the conversation about "Complaining about stress in work and life".
At that moment, a professor heard the conversation, thus, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a
large pot of coffee and various kinds of cups, made from porcelain,
plastic, glass, crystal, glass plain, some of them are very expensive, meanwhile the other cups look very beautiful.
He offered
his former student a several cup of coffee - asked them to pick the cups and poured it with the coffee.
After
all the students got there coffee in their hand, the professor said: "If
you noticed, all of the beautiful and expensive cups were taken, leaving
behind the plain and cheap glasses alone. Though it was normal, if all of you
only chose the best for yourselves, but in fact that is the source of your problems and make you stress."
"Remember this, the cup itself does not affect the quality of the
coffee. In many cases, it is just more expensive and the fact is : it hides the coffee which we are going to drink. What you really wanted was the coffee, not the cup, but you consciously take the best cups and then began to notice other people's cups."
The Professor continue, "Now
consider this: Life like coffee, while the jobs, money and position are the cups. Any kind of cup, It can't define nor change the quality of our life. But mostly, we only concern on the cup, not the coffee"
We must remember, Our life is more important than our job. If your job restrict yourself and controlling your life, you become vulnerable and fragile due to changes in circumstances.
